What Are The Harmful Inorganic Substances In The Air?
Rhyang Electronics Co.,Ltd | Updated: Mar 15, 2018

Ammonia

Ammonia is a colorless gas with a strong irritating odor. When the concentration of ammonia in the air exceeds 0.7mg/m3, the taste will be felt.

The effect of ammonia on the human body is irritating to the respiratory tract. The main manifestations are rhinitis, pharyngitis, sore throat, cough, and hemoptysis. A long-term inhalation of ammonia can also cause ammonia poisoning and inhibit the central nervous system.

Ammonia is also a substance widely used in the industry and contains ammonia in both binders and fertilizers. In the human environment, ammonia is mainly released from the building. Usually, in order to speed up the freezing of concrete and prevent freezing in winter construction, ammonia is added to the concrete. In the north, the building is very common, because of the temperature in the south. High, almost no antifreeze treatment. Another source is interior furniture and decorative materials, mainly found in adhesives. There is also the sweat and urine of the animal, which also produces ammonia.

Carbon oxides

Mainly refers to carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO).

Carbon dioxide is one of the main components in the air and is normally harmless to the human body. However, excessive concentration causes breathlessness, which causes breathlessness, dizziness, heart palpitations, even unconsciousness and respiratory arrest.

Carbon monoxide, commonly known as gas, is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is mainly produced by incomplete combustion. Carbon monoxide is very easy to combine with hemoglobin, so that hemoglobin loses its ability to carry oxygen, and it is extremely difficult to decompose, causing tissue suffocation. Therefore, it is very toxic to the human body.

Sulfur compounds

The sulfur compounds in the air are mainly sulfur dioxide (SO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

Sulfur dioxide is a colorless, pungent odorous toxic gas that is easily soluble in water and forms sulfite. Therefore, it has irritating effects on the human skin and respiratory system. Indoor sulfur dioxide mainly comes from the kitchen and heating coal, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas combustion.

Hydrogen sulphide is also a colorless poisonous gas. It smells bad smelling eggs. Indoors are mainly produced from piled garbage, odors from sewer inflows, manure from animals or animals, and exhaust gas. Hydrogen sulfide is a strong neurotoxin that has a strong irritating effect on the mucous membranes and can easily affect the eyes, respiratory system, and central nervous system.

Nitrogen Oxides

The nitrogen oxides that cause air pollution are mainly nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide. They are corrosive and have strong oxidizing properties.

Nitric oxide is a colorless gas. Nitrous oxide is a red-brown, irritating and poisonous gas that causes irritation and damage to the human eye and respiratory tract.

Nitrogen oxides are also mainly produced when the fuel is burned, and office photocopiers, smoking, cooking, and vehicle exhausts all contain nitrogen oxides.

Ozone

Ozone is a light blue gas with a pungent odor that is extremely unstable and easily decomposed into oxygen. Ozone is highly oxidizing, but it is a substance that purifies the air. However, if the air content exceeds 0.16 mg/m3, it will cause harm to the human body. Ozone mainly stimulates the eyes and respiratory system, but higher levels can make people breathe harder, suffocate, lower blood pressure, and even die.
